Anyway, we took round some cakes and had a lovely morning tea with Daphne, Jack and his sister Babe, who they we staying with. As with most houses that our elders live in, there's always lots and lots of breakable trinkets for little hands to find, so I spent most of the visit following Jarvis around and putting back bone china cups and figurines. Quite stressful. It was great to see Jack and Daphne though, before the chaos of the wedding in the afternoon.
Jack and Daphne mentioned that Jarvis was very much like his Uncle John Saxon when he was that age, just a total whirlwind and a million-miles-an-hour type of little person. I have heard stories told that when was a wee nipper, his parents used to tie him up to the cloths line in the yard to keep him in one place! I wouldn't do that, but if he turns out like his Uncle John, then I'd be more than happy, as he's just the coolest bloke I've ever met, even though he gives me heaps every time I see him...lol.
Jarvis carried on his Mr. Whirlwind at the wedding, as he was here - there and everywhere, except where he should have been, at the actual ceremony. As it took place, we were crawling through the bushes looking for bears, climbing trees to find bats and throwing the biggest rocks we could find into a muddy stream. We even found an old tractor which Jarvis climbed on and said to me, "Bye Dah, I'm off to work, see you tonight" A few moments later continued with "I'm back Dah, I've got five dollar." That's not much, but he seemed very happy with his days work.
The rest of the wedding was really cool and Jarvis spent a lot of time playing the piano and playing chase with his cuzzies, Klye, Connor, Grace and Rylee. He was totally shattered by about 8pm, so we took him home in the camper, where he feel asleep within seconds of being put into his booster seat. It's hard work being a whirlwind, don't you know!
House Dad.
