Jarvis Becomes A Crusader Fan

We all headed off to Leichhardt this morning so I could do the weekly food shopping and Adrienne could take Jarvis along to the local library, to sign him up as a member. Jarvis and Adrienne often read before sleep time and over a while, we've spent a fair bit of money on books, so Adrienne's idea to join and save money was warmly greeted by myself. Let's just say that saving money has never been one of Adrienne's focuses in life and I have the feeling that she's over reading the same books time and again. But I really do applaud her decision, as I remembered this morning, the rush of excitement I used to get when taking books home from the library.

Anyway, more important than books, on the way in the car I mentioned to Adrienne that Jarvis really should follow The Crusaders, as it would be great for us to, over the years as Father and Son, enjoy following one New Zealand team together, to which Adrienne surprising agreed. We'd never make this sort of life defining decision without consulting Jarvis, so we asked "Jarvis do you want to be a Crusaders fan?", to which he replied "Sure." So there you go Jarvis, if you are reading this in years to come, that's how you became a Crusaders fan, simple as. Though I think if we'd asked if you wanted to run naked down the road, we'd have got the same answer.

I joined them at the library after doing the shopping and getting the car valeted and found Jarvis furiously spinning a globe. We located New Zealand and several pirate ships before moving onto the toy lending section which, I'm pretty sure we'll never use, as we already have a house and loft full of toys. We also met a couple of woman who were doing what looked like some very serious research, but were more than happy to break the boredom, by letting Jarvis scribble all over their work with a marker pen. I had this mortal fear that they worked in the legal profession and were preparing documents to release an innocent man, however come the day, their vital evidence was flawed due to the scribbles of a toddler!

Eventually Adrienne signed Jarvis up after calling the library guy a moron, due to some stupid law about proof of ID and proof of address for Jarvis. I'm not sure what was going on, I just saw her loosing her cool and thought, "Oh you poor man" and grabbed Jarvis and hide under the nearest table. Adrienne of course won her argument and Jarvis was issued with a library card, where upon he took out three books, that they read before we all had our lunchtime nap.

After our sleep, we all soaked up the warm autumn sun in our plush and expansive grounds, or should I say, the 4m x 8m yard! It didn't really matter to be honest how big the outside area was, as it was just heaven for us all to be sat at the table, eating fruit, drinking tea and reading the papers. Could life get any better than that?

House Dad.

Wow, I would have bite him also, that is stupid. Here in the states they do the same thing... they want a bill as proof of authenticity. I like to explain to people that although we would prefer for our 2 yo to be "in charge of things" there appears to be laws about that plus, we gave her a Visa and the child had NO self control- the things she buys! LOL Anyways, while I understand why they do this... it seems rather silly to me.

Great pictures, he has gotten really big since the last time I visited a couple of months ago. He is really a cute little man!

Hugs- T

PS I forgot to say... don't you love this age, I am totally taking advantage of the whole "you want to...?" and "yeah" thing. I figure a few years down the road all I am going to hear is "that's stupid" becuase as we all know parents don't know a hill of beans about anything, so I figure I need to get things in while I can. LOL
