Holiday Programme

Jarvis will be attending his schools holiday programme on Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays, this week and next. It's not that I need a break from the wee guy, far from it, but we thought it might be a good idea to keep him in his normal school routine. It seems to be working well, as he really enjoys being around his friends, plus some others that I've not met before. Each day is themed with Wednesday being Reptile Display day, Thursday was Science Day and today was PJ Day, though no one was brave enough, considering how cold it is at present, to wear their PJ's.

Yesterday, on Science Day, Jarvis bought home three of his cool science experiments. The first was a piece of celery, that had been place in a cup of coloured water. The experiment showed how the fluid moved up through the celery and changed the leaves from green to blue.

The second was a wee cup of beans, which Jarvis soaked, covered with damp tissue and has now placed in the kitchen. We are all waiting with baited breath for them to sprout. I'm actually really impatient, so might go out and buy a plant to put in the cup to save time!

The third experiment was the most gross. All the little people got to make green slime, which is just the yuckiest stuff ever. Jarvis can't stop playing with it and small pieces of it keep turning up all over the house. I even had some in my shoes! I've just found the recipe to make it online, so we might try and make some different colours over the weekend, as being a boy, I want to make some too.

Also, when I picked Jarvis up from school this afternoon, he had the coolest face painting of a red backed spider on his face. He was very, very careful not to smudge it, as he wanted to frighten his beloved Mumma with it when she got home.

House Dad.

ps. Thank you to the anonymous commenter yesterday. All is well, thank you ;o)
