Resting Dah's Leg - Yeah Right!

After doing an ITB injury at my running club on Sunday, it was essential that I gave my legs as much rest as possible this week, but the thought of staying inside with the boys for a whole day would drive me crazy. I found a solution to everyones problems though, as I found a Physiotherapist located really close to Adrienne's work place. So I hatched a plan to go into the city, check them out, plus get the boys out of the house for some fun. In total we were out and about for 4-hours and walked over 6-kilometres (see last picture), but we had just the most fantastic day.

Our first stop after getting off the train at Circular Quay was The Custom House, which has the coolest lobby floor ever. It's a scale model of Sydney below the floor and Jarvis just loves looking at all the detail. Jarvis was really good at talking in whispers while inside too, as it's now a library and I drummed it home to him before entering that we needed to be quiet and not run around - he didn't let me down.

Our next mission was for Jarvis to buy his beloved Mumma some daffodils, which are probably his favorite flower. We found a florist and Jarvis choose a small bunch that had yet to open, but would look wonderful on his beloved Mummas desk when they do. And so it was that we popped quickly into Adrienne's office and left them on her desk as a surprise.

Then it was a quick visit into the Physiotherapists to check them out before commencing our wander around the city, where we found a huge inflated Bledisloe Cup in Martin Place. The trophy is played for each year over a series of games between The All-Blacks (our team) and The Wallabies of Australia. The game is on this Saturday night, so there's plenty signage up around th city to promote it. Anyway, Jarvis had heaps of fun climbing the inflatable and bouncing of it. He also put on a dance show on the platform below, as you can see from the picture below, that drew a few claps of appreciation from the crowd in Martin Place.

After lunch in Myers department store, we then walked to the Domain park to have a run around in the sun and for Dah to watch the runners. Jarvis had a really good explore and insisted, as boys do, that we take his stick collection home with us.

At the station while waiting for the train we bought some lollies. I picked some maltesers for Felix and I and Jarvis scored a packed of jelly crazy babies. He did a pretty good job of eating them on the train, though when we got off, I discovered that he still had one clutched tightly in his hand. "Jarvis, why have you still got one in your hand? You should eat it, as it'll go all sticky" I said, to which Jarvis replied "No Dah, I'm saving it for my beautiful Mumma." Oh my god, my heart just melted. I know Jarvis is very spirited and wears me out, but he is full to bursting with love, which is so wonderful.

House Dad.
