It's been a long time coming, but we finally became members of The Australian Museum today. It was slightly cloudy first thing, so I thought it would be a good chance to do the 30-minute downhill walk from our house to the museum. I didn't think about the 40-minute, uphill, midday, 40+ degree uphill walk back!
Anyway, the museum rocked especially the Kids Island, which is for under fives. There were so many things to play with and Jarvis and I had a ball. We spent about 90-minutes playing in that part and then moved onto the Discovery Centre, where we met a really nice woman who works in that part. I forgot to ask her name, but we'll get that and a photo next time we visit. Anyway, the really nice woman took a massive stick insect out of its tank and let Jarvis stroke it. I was very nervous, not of the stick insect, but of seeing one of its legs getting pulled off. Jarvis was very gentle though. Apparently, with futher visits, Jarvis will work up to holding a stick insect, then progress to holding a Giant Cockroach!!!OMG...I couldn't even be in the same room as one of those.
House Dad.
