Mum's Away - Day Three

The wonderful Louise looked after Jarvis last night, while I went to yoga. Jarvis thought it was Christmas time, and instead of coming home to a sleepy wee boy, I came home to a wired little chap. He feel asleep in the car when I dropped Louise off though. The downside being that he was out of sync and we both had a very restless night.

Both tired, we trundled down to play group, where Jarvis came to life and spent two very happy hours playing with toys and bouncing on the trampoline.

On the way back, we stopped at a house a few doors down, to say Hi to a wee dog that Jarvis liked the look of. After a few minutes Kat, who lives in the same house, came out to say hello. Kat let Jarvis into her front yard to play with Bijoux and he thought it was wonderful. Now he looks out for Bijoux whenever we go past.

The secret of flying solo whilst Adrienne is away, is not to go to hard out with Jarvis, and sleep when he does. This enables me to have some energy in reserve in case we have a tricky night. So after both boys slept for two-hours at lunch time, we dashed off to meet up with some friends. It's been so nice of Paige and Lola to invite us into their group of friends and it's become one of the highlights of our week. I took some pictures of Jarvis playing with Olly and Lola, but sadly my battery ran out before Finn turned up. I'll grab a picture of Finn next time.

I just put Jarvis to sleep in our bed and just before he went down, he cried out, "Dah', turned around and gave me a kiss. I had tears in my eyes and all the hard work of the day just melted away. It rocks being a parent eh!

House Dad.
