Normally Jarvis will fall asleep on the way home from school on Friday's, but strangely, this week, he feel asleep on the way home on Wednesday. Anyway, I've learned from experience to just lift him from the car and then carry him to the lounge and lay him out on the sofa, because If I try and put a night time nappy on him or remove his shoes, he'll wake and get very, very upset. So I thought I'd show him and let him sleep in his sunglasses LOL. I also lay an old towel underneath him too, just in case he has an accident.
The Playmobil farm that Adrienne gave Jarvis for his birthday, has been getting plenty of playtime this week. I took the castle back up into the loft, but left the base, so that we could set up the farm on top. It works well, until Felix climbs up and smashes everything up! The plan is to buy some timber at the weekend, secure it to the underside of the base, flip it over and paint a farm scene. I'll see if Bunnings stock barbed wired too, so we can try and keep Felix off.
Thursday
Thursday night was great fun, as we all sat on the play room carpet and built Mr. Potato Heads. After a while we got bored and started to put the pieces on our our faces and take pictures. Jarvis, who started it, thought it was a wonderful game, however Felix, as you can see in the picture below, really, really didn't want to be made to look like Harry Potter.
This week has been quite a monumental step for Jarvis sleeping routine. After 4-years of sleeping with his beloved Mumma, he made the call on his own, to sleep out back with his Dah. It's great, as he'll get a full nights sleep of sometimes 11-hours, so that he is refreshed and not so touchy the next day. It does mean that I have to get used to sharing the room with Jarvis, as he, like his beloved Mumma, is a horrendous sleep talker, but I'll get used to that I'm sure. I do have to climb down from the top bunk a couple of times through the night, as he'll lose his duvet and I'll have to cover him up again. It's all good though, but I'll miss the last 4-years of laying in bed on my own, watching DVDs and eating chips.
Friday
I took a picture of Jarvis lunch box contents this morning, as I was so proud of it's contents, as I feel I've struck a good balance of healthy food. Also, I've just had three days in row that he's eaten nearly all the contents, which is something for little person who eats very little. In the box, along with his two bottles of V8 vegetable juice are: 1 x bottle of Yakult, 6 x mini picklets, 2 x cheese slices, 7 x wee wraps with cheese, ham and cheese slices, 2 x fruit salad (kiwi - strawberries - grapes), 1 x fruit bar, 3 x slices of salami and 2 x mini pickled gherkins. Not a bad selection. I always look up at the clock at 10.30 and 12.30 and think of him eating his lunch. And what did his Dah have for lunch? Some week old Turkish bread and the last scrapings of some hummus.
Adrienne had work drinks to attend tonight, so I paced myself throughout the day, so that I wouldn't be too grumpy and tired in the evening. I also did something that I'm not the greatest at, and that was to site down and just play with the boys. I always tend to rush around and do stuff, but tonight we all dressed up as Knights and battled it out. This is something I REALLY need to work on and that's to just relax and play with my boys.
House Dad.

That's a wicked lunch! And I am impressed he will eat that much :) Did you make the sandwich wrap things? They look so cute.
Wow what an awesome lunchbox Lee. Anyone would eat that given half the chance! Choice is always a great thing and to think Jarvis eats it all is fantastic. Well done. My 16year daughter tells me her friends all think her lunches are great (yes I still make them for my kids)so that is a nice feeling after all these years!
