Anyway, after a restless night, I was looking to a nice easy going day which, we did get, as we visited our good friend and Adrienne's work mate Sally, who lives in Balmain. We would, I think, like to live in Balmain, but it would mean making lots of cut-backs financially, and anyway Annandale is pretty cool. Balmain is just so buzzing though, with a really cool atmosphere and some excellent shops. Sally has been on at us for ages to come over, so today we did the massive 7-minute drive over.
Jarvis was delighted to see Sally, who has two cats called Barker and Corbett, obviously named after those two legendary British comedians Ronnie Corbett and the late and VERY great Ronnie Barker. They were scared witless by Jarvis who chased them all over the house, so I'm thinking we might hold off getting him his own kitten for a while.
As it was nearing lunchtime, we took a stroll up to the main drag of Balmain which, as it is every Saturday and got a great cup of coffee and checked out the shops. Adrienne and Jarvis found a really cool toy shop, where Jarvis scored a wee plastic golf set as his, as Adrienne calls it, an exit toy. Love that...lol. We then walked to the other end of the road to get some lunch at the market which, is held in the Church grounds on Saturday. Sally has been raving about a Turkish dish for ages called Gozleme and insisted hat we try some. Oh my god, what a wonderful taste, how have I not discovered this before, it's beautiful and I'm now hooked.
Whilst I got a massage in the market, Jarvis, Adrienne and Sally went across the road to have their lunch, play on the play ground and knock a few golf balls around. I arrived just in time to score some delish Gozleme and stir-fried rice.
Now my babies are fast asleep after our wonderful morning visiting our Very cool friend Sally. I'm off for a nap now too, as I'm off to a Brazilian music festival my friend from Uruguay, Ana tonight, so need to get some sleep so I can samba all night long!
House Dad.
