Crisping By The Pool

Jarvis and I had the most fabulous time at the pool this morning, swimming, jumping in, playing chase and um, getting sun burnt! It's totally my fault of course, as in the rush to get out, I forgot to put sunscreen on the both of us, and now both the boys are a bit sore.

Jarvis was very excited as he always is about going got the pool, so much so that he was standing by the door with his body board and goggles on, shouting "C'mon Dah, pool Dah." So off we shot to our local pool which has 4 pools, 3 open air and 1 enclosed that, I try to avoid as it's a very little person's pool and I have it in my head that it's about 60% water and 40% wee and snot! I hate going in it.

We had a great time in the little people's pool playing with Jarvee's body board and a wee boy of three, who shared his action figures with Jarvis. I could see Jarvis picking up loads of new moves from this wee lad, who Jarvis thought was just the business. He taught Jarvis how to make the action figures fight each other which, I'm resigned to now, as I can't stop him from doing what little boy's do. They just seem to be obsessed with guns, soldiers and generally being rough.

I've been dieting for about 3-weeks now and running nearly 4 kilometres every morning and doing about 100 sit-ups which, I know is not much, but it's the start of things to come. I've lost about 5 kilogrammes now, and felt confident enough this morning to go to the pool without my thrash shirt on. I'm still a bit flabby on the stomach, but I'll get there soon enough. Anyway, I was showing enough skin to get pretty burnt...doh!

After 2-hours in the pool I noticed that Jarvee's lips were turning blue, so decided to get him out into the sun and get some kai into his puku. I think he was ready to go, as his eyes were starting to get heavy and sure enough, after getting changed and into the car, he was out cold before leaving the car park. He's now fast asleep in our bed, totally tuckered, one well exercised, if a wee bit bit burnt boy. I'll be in trouble I tell you once the boss gets home. I wonder if I could get away with putting some foundation on his face or something like that so Adrienne doesn't find out?

House Dad.
