Jarvis had a massive four-hour sleep today which, was just perfect, as I had loads of housework to do after being at the hospital for most of the weekend with Manz. He was in such a deep sleep that I even managed to hoover the whole house while he slept. When he woke, he was delighted to see the new treasure chest that I bought him from Ikea which, we've put all his dress-up cloths in. It's also the new home of my plaster skull that he discovered in the loft and has nicknamed Pirate. I bought the skull 25-years ago when I was about 15 from a novelty shop in Paris, and I think it must be my oldest possession. I'm not sure how I've come to keep it this long, but glad that Jarvis enjoys playing with it. Shall we take bets on how long before it gets broken? I'm pretty sure it won't last another 25-years in a Jarvis' hands.
Jarvis' talking has come on so much and we can understand most things, however we do struggle every now and then. For instance, this afternoon he kept asking for something and I couldn't understand what he was saying, so asked him to show me. For some reason he showed me the TV which didn't help as it was turned off, so he then went and found it himself. It was Play Doh and I guess he'd seen some on TV earlier. It must be a bit frustrating when he knows what he's saying and we can't understand however, we work it out eventually.
Anyway, as he was cutting up his Play Doh I noticed something that I do, and that's to stick my tongue out when concentrating. Not sure why we do it, but I guess it must help.
The day finished with Jarvis accidentally dropping a cordless drill on my foot, resulting in a pain that truly felt like my toes were broken which, of course they were not, but still bloody painful. So son, in 20-years time when you're pushing me around in my chair, I most likely won't be able to walk due to the things you've dropped on me, the hours of swinging and carrying you and the countless elbows and knees into my groin area!
House Dad.
