NZ Trip Day Five: Little Earth Model Village

The whanau had a pretty good nights sleep in the camper van last night, helped I think by being able to hear the waves crashing against the shore, only a couple of hundred metres from Trish and Alan's house.

After breakfast we went into the throbbing West Coast metropolis that is Greymouth town and bumped into one of Adrienne's old school friends John, who was a great mate to me as well when I lived on The Coast back in 1992 - 1993. It was nice to see John after so long.

We then had lunch at the Bonzai restaurant, where Jarvis got to play with a couple of new toys that we picked up in the local toy shop sale. Adrienne and I used to eat out heaps at the Bonzai in our year on The Coast and like much of the things on The Coast, it hasn't changed at all. They still do amazing pizza and a very delicious seafood chowder.

Our next stop was the main reason for coming to The Coast, and that was to see Jarvis' granddad's model village. Little Earth Model Village is set up a few kilometres out of Greymouth and is slowly taking shape. To find out more how it's coming on, go to Little Earth Model Village.
Anyway, as Jarvis is Alan's grandson, he got to walk where ever he pleased and pull up whatever he wanted! It's good to be family eh!

Then it was back to Jarvee's grandparents to park up and have a wee nana-nap, which was much needed by us all. The boys awoke to a cup of tea and a plate of biscuits supplied by Mumma/Ade - this is what holidays are all about.

Now it's evening time, it's pissing down, as it does a lot on The Coast, so Alan and I are setting up a new blog site for his model village. Take a look.

House Dad.
