NZ Trip Day Six: Hanmer Here We Come

are just about to hop into the bus and head off now to Hanmer Springs for a couple of days rest and relaxation. So it’s time for the whanau to say goodbye to Jarvee’s grandparents, who we’ll see again this coming Saturday at Adrienne’s brother’s wedding in Christchurch.

We had a great time catching up with Trish and Alan and Jarvis had a wonderful time scaring the living daylights out of Trish’s wee dog Tama, who was on the receiving end of a few toddler whacks from the wee man. Jarvis also had heaps of fun being swung by his granddad from the cloths dryer this morning.

The weather was pretty poo, but we still had a great time and I managed to escape with only one sandfly bite which is a record for me on The Coast. It will also be the last time Adrienne will see the house which she grew up in since the age of four, as Trish and Alan are soon to move nearer to the model village.

Right, we’ve eaten all the left-over KFC from last night, Jarvee has given the dog one last whack, so it’s time to hit the road for the 3-hour drive over Lewis Pass to Hanmer Springs.

House Dad.
