Play Group In The Park

My good buddy Lisa gave me a great tip yesterday to help out with my training Jarvis out of nappies. As soon as Jarvis has woken, I take him out of his overnight nappy and put his spiderman pants on and tell him to let me know when he needs to take them off to do wees or poos. Within 30-minutes, Jarvis had came up to me and said, "Nappy off Dah, wees coming." It worked a treat and did several more times for wees and once for poos. I even ventured to take Adrienne to the train station with Jarvis wearing his pants and jeans. I know it's only a small victory, and I know there are little accidents ahead, but it was such a nice achievement, and I'm so proud of my boy. I even took a picture of him watching TV this morning (first picture) as I thought he looked so grown up.

I wasn't quite ready for our trip out this morning with no nappy, as it was going to be a big one and I'm just taking baby steps with the nappy-less training at the moment. So anyway, we walked down to Jubilee Park where they were holding a Play Group in the park, organised by the Play Group of NSW Organisation which we are members of. There was lots to see and do, including bouncy castle, climbing gym, farm animals, face-painting and concerts by The Jitterbugs and The Hooley Dooleys. It was all free and very well attended. Jarvis went on the bouncy castle and the climbing gym before getting bored and wanting to go off and throw rocks into the water. I was happy to do this, as it's fun, but sadly the tide was out and we both didn't want to clamber through the slime to get to the waters edge, so we headed off to our very cool local park, which was in the same area as the event.

Once at the park we caught up with our good buddy Vanessa and baby Dane, who also came down to check out the event. Jarvis was much happier in here doing his own thing, and it was nice for me to stop, sit down for a moment and chat with Vanessa. Jarvis and I got so dirty at the park, that we needed a bath when we came home. It was a good idea to bath as well, because we both get an itchy rash from the grass, which drives us mad.

House Dad.

Hi! Great tip on the Toddler Keys, thanks. We're slwoly toilet training too, but even though Cole will go on the toilet when you take him he won't ask, so accidents all round here! The girls at daycare have been great, and I think the fact his best friend is training too and is very successfully in undies makes it all the more appealing! Boys are really such great mates to each other aren't they?! Sounds like you are doing great Jarvis, keep up the good work kiddo! Bex :)

I have a child who would randomly use the bathroom or not based on I really don't know what system you know.

when he's two, he can make it to the bathroom just fine, and then he decided it is so much more convinient to use his diapers instead of having to rush to the bathroom all the time.

How do you take someone out of that?
