A Poo In Pitt Street

On Tuesday night I went to the movies to see Venus which, wasn't that bad at all. It was quite nice to see something pleasant and warm for a change. Anyway, throughout the movie the English woman next to me keep sneezing and spluttering, as she had a stinker of a cold and I could just feel the germ-filled air movement every time she sneezed, pass over me. I just knew that I'd get it. Anyway, this morning, both Jarvis and I had runny noses and sneezes, meaning that yet again, we had to cancel a catch up with our Paddington buddies. We could have seen them, but they were off swimming and I'm determined that Jarvis and I kick this bug within 24-hours, so a dip in an outside pool was not an option.

We were stuck inside yesterday, so we needed to get out and do something that didn't get us too close to others to pass on our bugs. The solution, our weekly Father and Son day, where it's just the two of us running around the city and pretty much going in the direction of Jarvis' choice. There was only one rule and that was that he wasn't allowed in the fountain to get wet, like he did last week, as it was a bit chilly and he had a slight sniffle. Incidentally, the fountain that Jarvis wanted to get into, that's pictured below, appears in The Matrix, as I only found out recently. It's the scene with the woman in the red dress.

Our next stop was Pitt street which is a good spot, as it's a pedestrian only road, so it's nice and safe. This is where Jarvis decided to sit down and have his morning poo, as you'll see from his red-faced picture below. A woman came over who'd noticed Jarvis was in a bit of discomfort and asked if we were OK. She left with a huge grin on her face when I told her what was happening.

Our next stop was the department store Myers, where I had to buy a 1GB memory card for our camera, so we can get enough pictures next week, when we are on holiday, back home in New Zealand. While in the camera department, Jarvis climbed into the display window and sat quite undisturbed against the glass and had a look at the street activity 6-levels below. I try and not pass my phobias onto Jarvis, but heights is just one fear that I can't overcome, so I just left him there until he got bored.

Then it was back to the station, where Jarvis always delights in putting the ticket in the machine and back home on the train so the boys can have a sleep. Jarvis needs a sleep as he'd worn himself out and needs to get over his cold. I need to sleep to kick the bug too, but also, I'm off to the movies tonight with my good buddy Tieia, so need to have a nana-nap. You can be sure though, that I'll be looking out for some pommies in the movie theatre, so I can cough and sneeze over them and give the bug back.

House Dad.
