After such a hectic week for the boy, I let him crash for most of the day and watch DVDs, so he could recharge his batteries. I even noticed that he was not his normal million-miles-an-hour self and was quite happy to just relax. I think eleven days of travel had taken it's toll on his wee body, so a slob day was just what we needed.
We took the slob day thing to it's extreme later in the afternoon, when I even let Jarvis eat his dinner in bed! That's a first, but he was so chilled out, that it made sense. Plus, I had a monstrous pile of washing to sort through, so to keep him away was great, as he'd only want to hide among it and mess it all up.
To finish off the day, my buddy Vanessa came up to try some of my birthday curry and birthday cake. It was a very nice end to a very relaxing and chilled out day for the boys. As you can guess by this post, I've made little mention of my birthday, as I'm kind of over them now, but Jarvis so enjoys the cake with candles on, that I agreed to do it for him. He really does not like the cake itself, but loves to make a mess with the chocolate.
House Dad.
