Faster Than A Speeding Bullet Times Two

Jarvis and I have been hanging out to go and visit the new Kids Island at The Australian Museum which opened on 16th March when we were back home in New Zealand. So off we set this morning full of anticipation to be blown away by the new set up, that has been many, many months in the planning. Once inside we were a little disappointed, as it just seemed to lack something. I asked the guy who normally works there how it was going and what sort of feedback they'd received and he told me that it was generally positive, with a few parents calling it sterile. I have to say, that I always try and be as positive as possible, however it was a bit bleak in there and lacked the character that the old place had. It did have lots going for it though, with some truly awesome pods with lots to explore, but yeah, something is just missing, but I'm sure they'll suss it out and put it right sooner or later.

On a more positive note, we bumped into Lisa and Luca who we meet about a month ago at the museum. Lisa is really cool and Luca is a total live wire, just like Jarvis and the boys had a great time playing at Kids Island and even did a spot of pretending to be puppy dogs, with both boys on their hands and knees, yapping like wee puppies. It was so cute to see.

We exchanged numbers with Lisa and Luca and plan to do a trip to The Powerhouse Museum in the future, so both the boys can truly run themselves into the ground.

After Kids Island, Jarvis and I took in the rest of the museum, spending heaps of time in the Discovery centre which I think is his favourite place, as there's lots of microscopes and other interesting things to touch. We also came across a Huntsman spider in a cage. I've heard about these spiders, as most people we know have them crawling around in their houses. Well this is the first one I've ever seen and OMG! If we had one in our house, I think we'd have to move - just look at the size of the dam thing would you!
