No More Sleep Dah

Over the last couple of weeks Jarvis has been fighting his lunch-time sleep, which is a shame, as it's allowed me to have plenty of late nights, with the benefit of gaining the lost sleep hours during the day. So today I thought we try and get through the whole day without even trying to get him to sleep and up until now (4.11pm), he has shown absolutely no signs of slowing down or even tiredness. I think there might be downside though, and that is that he'll go to bed earlier, which will mean Adrienne will have less time in the evening with her beloved boy. Guess she'll just have to talk to me...OMG, what will we talk about?

We are also progressing well with the toilet training, so I decided to keep fairly close to home, only going as far as Jubilee Park for an hour, where we threw heaps of rocks into the lagoon. I think that if we keep up these rock throwing trips to Blackwattle and throw enough stones, we'll be able to change the course of the foreshore! We did spend some time in the play ground, where Jarvis had fun playing with some other boys, which was quite amusing. It didn't last long until he got bored of their company and went off to talk to all the Mums.

Once home and after some successful #1's and #2's on the potty, we went for a walk with Vanessa, Dane and Benny the dog. We had to catch up with Vanessa and drop off some of our home-grown basil, as Vanessa is cooking us a traditional Vietnamese chicken and basil dish tonight - can't wait.

I was then stuck for something to do, as our routine was out, due to no lunchtime nap, so Jarvis and I cleaned the front of the house down. Ah the excitement of some of the things I do as a House Dad and I'm sure Jarvis will look back on these cleaning chores with fondness one day! It wasn't all bad, as we got to play with water and LOTS of bubbles, with both boys slipping and falling on our butts a few times too. The main highlight though was when our neighbour Sarah from across the road pulled up and we chatted for a while. We only met Sarah on Friday night when a few of the neighbours were in the street investigating a wee snake that had appeared. No big drama. But we did find out from chatting to Sarah that their family are big Rugby Union fans like our whanau. This will be perfect for when our team The Crusaders play their team The Brumbies in the Super 14 and even more fun when our countries play each other in the Tri-Nations later in the year. Jarvis even scored a chocolate bunny from Sarah, which was most appreciated by our wee man, so much so that we had to dash in and devour it straight away.

House Dad.

Wow! Yossi, my 33 months old, gave up naps a few months back. He seem to take it back two moths ago.

I like it when he didn't nap because he goes to bed early and wakes up early. I like my late night with David. We talk, watch movie or read together...but it's not so peaceful when you have an almost supertired child jumping about so late at night!

Jarvis seems to be a happy boy. I am sure it's all those outings. Which reminds me, I need to learn some sport so I can play one with my children. Does Bowling count as sport?
