Chatswood Chase

I made the most of the wonderful weather last weekend to wash all of Jarvee's old baby cloths in readiness for the arrival of V 2.0 in about 10-weeks time. I managed to do about 15 wash loads, but ran out of time and good weather to do the rest of the washing. So when we arranged to catch up with Lisa and Oscar today at The Entertainment Quarter, we suddenly found out that we had no long pants for Jarvis to wear or wet weather shoes - bugger! It was pretty wet and miserable, so we had to cancel our plans to see them in order to go and buy some new winter cloths for Jarvee.

We knew that Van and Dane were going to Chatswood Chase, which is over on the north side of Sydney, so we tagged along with them. To make it easier, we all squeezed into our Golf for the drive over the Harbor Bridge to the Chatswood area. Jarvis sat next to Dane in the back and the two chatted away for a wee while, with Jarvis showing Dane his Nefni Bear.

Vanessa had stuff to do, as did we, so it made sense to split up and go our separate ways. We also are on a strict 1-hourly toilet session, where I take Jarvis to the loo, with his potty seat and see if we have any number ones or twos. It's going pretty well, with this no accidents to report. We also had to buy some bath oils and creams for his eczema.

After our wee shopping spree where we got all the bits we needed, except the new cloths, which was the whole point of the trip, but proved to much hassle without the help of Adrienne, we met up with Van and Dane in the food court. We were also joined by Van's in-laws Michael and Betty plus Ken's sister Anita and her beautiful wee daughter Charlotte. Jarvis was most intrigued by Michael, as he rarely gets to spend any time with his grandparents, so to see an elder was quite different.

Once lunch was finished, Jarvis and I went for a wander while the others ate and we spotted a New Zealand Natural Ice Cream stand. In the picture below, you can see Jarvis looking at a picture of Rangitoto, which is his mountain in his Mihi. It was funny to see Rangitoto, a volcano that we looked at everyday in Auckland from our window, so far from home.

Before we left, it was off to the loo to see if we could squeeze out some wee before the journey home. After a successful wee, Jarvis washed his hands, but decided that he didn't want to dry his hands under the hand dryer, but instead wanted to blow his hair into a strange Flock Of Seagulls style. He was so impressed with his new hairdo that he ran out shouting 'Nessa, look my hair nessa.' He's a funny boy, must get it from his Mumma!

House Dad.

I still can't fathom it that when we're sweating here, you're about to go cold!

Does that mean the toilet does go counter-clockwise in Oz? For some reason, it goes both ways in my house depending on which bathroom you're using.

I should know, (DS2)Yoav have flush enough toilet to find that out.
