Enforced Rest, Well Kind Of

Late yesterday afternoon when Jarvis kept spluttering, I had a suspicion that he may be coming down with a cold, and when he awoke from his late afternoon nap and was crying and calling for his Mumma, I knew it was a certainty.

So sadly, we had to cancel, yet again, our catch up with Lisa and Luca, as Jarvis was very slow, grumpy and had a fairly high temperature. As Adrienne had a business breakfast to attend, she went off very early in a taxi, so Jarvis and I had a very slow start, just cuddling up in bed and watching a DVD. It was then bath time and Jarvis wanted to jump in with me, which is a rarity, as I take very hot baths, so reluctantly added some cold water. Once in Jarvis' first words were "I'm doing wee's in the bath Dah." Ah yeah, that'll be the other reason that I don't bath with Jarvis!

After our bath we got dressed in nice warm cloths, as I was now coming down with the cold too and cuddled up on the sofa to watch Nick Jnr. and eat dried fruit. It was so nice to be warm and clean and snuggled up with my little man under a doona. It only lasted about 30-minutes though, before the boredom and sugar from the dried fruit kicked in.

Umm, so what could two sniffly boys do at home for the day? I know, lets sort out that awful shelving down the side of the house and put some new ones up. Yes of course, when both really run down, let's do boy stuff. So the rest of the day was spent pulling down some old shelving, pulling out and putting the together the lawn mower ready for our first mow on the weekend and messing around with tools. Oh, and we found a worm too that Jarvis wanted to spray with WD40, but I talked him into letting it live in the bucket of basil.

So that was it really, a day of keeping warm, keeping from passing our bugs onto our friends and being best mates. I took a few pictures of the day, nothing flash, but I can say, that in the picture of Jarvis playing with the car jack, for the first time ever, I can actually see a little bit of my features in his face. What do you think? Or is it that fact, that like his Dah, he has a look of confusion on his face when operating tools!

House Dad.
