As planned we all met at a wee play ground inside the mall and had a quick bite to eat. Jane always makes heaps of food which looks scrumier than mine, so of course Jarvis wont have a bar of the lunch I make him and tucks into Jane's food. He even ate a whole cake, which totally blew me away, as he does not have a sweet tooth at all. Jarvis also managed to scrounge some fresh strawberries.
Once full of food and drink it was of course time to play and play they did. As it's only a very small play ground, I made sure to be on hand to stop any friction between our little people and some of the other little ones. It was all good, but there were a couple of 5+ kids in there, which is a pain, as it's only meant for 1 - 4 years olds. Never mind, there were only a few moments when I had to step in and redirect some little people, as did a couple of other parents.
Jarvis and I then headed off to explore this new mall and ended up in a jewellery shop, where Jarvis checked out the bling, and took a fancy to some rather tasteful silver necklaces with a large $ on the end. Very tasteful indeed. We had a great time trying on all the awful stuff and I have absolutely no idea who would buy such dreadful things.
Our final stop was a chain store we've never been to before called Big W, that I think is along the same lines at K Mart. Naturally we ended up in the toy department checking out all the cool stuff. By now it was gone 1pm and Jarvis was due one more big boy wee before going home. Being the big spending Dah that I am, I lashed out a whole $7 on a cowboy set as an exit toy. What a great pick it was too, as before we got in the car, Jarvis put it all on and thought he was so cool. He feel asleep on the way home and no matter how hard I tried, at each set of traffic lights, I could not get the guns from his fingers. This meant that every time he flexed his fingers in his sleep, the guns went off. As soon as we pulled up to the house and turned the engine off, his eyes opened and he said "Cowboy hat Dah", so we came inside to finish off the outfit with hat and jacket.
It's funny, but before becoming a Dah, I was so anti-guns, but he does look ever so cute in his outfit. Plus he only talks in a gruff voice now as he's dressed as a cowboy. I think I'll send him over to say with Shoshana in the States to work on his Cowboy techniques. And as we sat on the front door step together eating cowboy biscuits, my mind wandered back to being a wee boy too and dressing up as a cowboy. I think there are just some things, as a wee boy, that you are going to be into regardless.
House Dad.
P.S
After mentioning in this post that I remembered dressing up as a cowboy, as a toddler, just like Jarvis did today, I thought to myself, I'm sure my sister Nefni emailed me some pictures of me and my younger brother Roland, dressed as cowboy's. Well I found them and added them below, plus another one of Roland and I wearing just the coolest shirts ever...enjoy...lol.

Lee, that is such a cute outfit. Come to think of it, I don't think I have a gone in my house, even a toy gun. We're going to have to go shopping tomorrow!
I remember when Chana was only 20 months, I woke up with her buck naked except for a cowboy hat and her father's skates. Of course, I took some pictures. It will come in handy for bribe later on.
Plus, there was that other time she insisted on wearing my underwear like a necklace and refused to take it off, not even for synagogue. Oh, the shame!
