Running And Sunning - Bye Bye Mumma

Some mornings Jarvis has absolutely no interest in breakfast, but every now and then, as with this morning he'll go ballistic with eating. He managed to eat two weet-bix, some fruit loops and half a bacon sandwich. Why couldn't it be that easy every day? Anyway, we all had a pretty lazy start to the day, just sitting around being together and eating our kai. I think Adrienne and I were soaking it up as we knew that in the evening she would be leaving for her conference.

Once fed, bathed and dressed, we drove over to Birkenhead Point as I wanted to run The Bay Run, which my friend Michelle had told me was about 7 kilometres long and flat all the way round. It sounded just like the run I needed to get me back into it after my two-week lay off with the cold. There was also the bonus that it's surrounded by heaps of parks, so Adrienne and Jarvis could enjoy the sunshine and play in a park, while I did my run. So off Jarvis and Adrienne went to play and off I set for a really enjoyable run around the bay, with the only problem being that I was running in the middle of the day, instead of my normal time of about 6am. It was only 18 degrees, but really sunny and I'd normally run in half light and 9 degrees, plus there were no water fountains around the track, so I was gasping when I finished the run 41-minutes later. In the picture below, I'm putting some water on my head to cool down from a tap I found. It's not me having a breakdown and holding my head, I look a lot different when that happens ;o)

Things didn't run that smoothly for Adrienne and Jarvis either, as the park I'd chosen had the most ridiculous steps up to the slide, which as you'll see in the picture below, are just too high for little people. Jarvis had two falls, which is so unlike him and Adrienne said all the other little people had problems too. Apart from that, they had a wonderful time in the park, seeing parakeets, making pirate treasure X's and making friends.

Now it's evening time and Jarvis and I are watching The Sponge Bob Square Pants movie before bedtime. Adrienne left at 5pm when her taxi picked her up and Jarvis and I got to say a quick bye bye, before ducking back inside to the warm. It was quite sad for both Adrienne and I, as we both hate being apart, but as long as she's safe, both boys are happy and she'll be back in only 3-sleeps. Right, where's the popcorn?

House Dad.
