Four-Hours Of Lee Time

As Adrienne is off tomorrow for a three-day conference in Adelaid, we decided that it might be a good time for me to have some 'Lee Time' to recharge, before going it alone for a few days. I tried this last week, but ended up spending the three-hours at home cleaning! So reluctantly, at Adrienne's suggestion, I took a bus into town, I say reluctantly, as I've never much liked going on buses, in fact, it would be about 15-years since I was last on one. However, I waited patiently (for me) for 10-minutes for one to arrive and whisk me into the C.B.D. I got a seat straight away, but gave it up at the next stop for a woman, who seemed shocked that I offered my seat. I totally believe in the equality of the genders, but if a woman, who is clearly of retirement age, is standing, then a female or man MUST give up their seat. Anyway, at the next stop another older Asian woman got on and everyone did that glazed over look, until a really nice girl gave up her seat too. And again at the next stop, an elderly gentleman got on, but this time, all the able bodied passengers ignored him, until the girl who'd given up her seat and myself starting saying really loudly, and in kind of joking, but dropping massive hints type voice, that someone should give up their seat. With a very sheepish look on his face, a young guy stood up and gave up his seat. VICTORY to courtesy.

My next hour of 'Lee Time' was spent shopping for cloths for Jarvis, which I just had to do, as he doesn't really have a winter wardrobe, plus Myers had a 30% off all Milkshake cloths, a brand I really like. $175 later, wham-bam, Jarvis' winter wardrobe is sorted with a body warmer, jacket, two pairs of cargo pants, one pair of jeans, a belt, a shirt, two long-sleeved t-shirts, a hoodie and two thermal vests. Not bad eh.

My next stop was Virgin Mega store, as I still have a $100 voucher to use, but I cant find anything that I want to add to my massive CD and DVD collection. I did find a great animated Spiderman DVD for Jarvis though. Jarvis scores again!

Time to do something for me now, so off I went on my main reason for coming to town, and that was to see The World Press Photo 07 exhibition at the State Library. The plan was to go with Tieia, as she, like me, is really into photography, but she sadly had to pull out at the last moment, as she come down with bronchitis, so get well buddy :o) So even though I didn't get to share it with Tieia, it was none the less an amazing and thought provoking exhibition.

Then it was back home after four-hours of 'Lee Time' to find my beautiful whanau asleep in bed. What to do with myself? I know, I'll go to the movies and see Zodiac, which I was meant to see with Sally on Thursday, but she came down with the flu. Hold on a minute, can anyone see a pattern developing here? All my friends developing sudden illness just before going out with me...mmmmm, interesting. Anyway, it was an OK movie, not earth shattering, but a good way of keeping me out of the house, where apparently, it's impossible for me not to make noise!

Now I'm back home and what have the whanau been up to? Well they've been to the park and found lots of 'treasures' including an empty bird nests and lots of sticks, plus had a great time swinging Spiderman from the light shade. They also did some cleaning and did lots of craft stuff too, which they showed me on my return. Jarvis showed me how clever he is with scissors, then Adrienne growled at me for pretending that Jarvis had cut my finger off. So all in all, a pretty cool day for everyone.

House Dad.

Hah hah! Your header is so COOL!! It made my day when I opened your blog : )
If only I could do something just as memorable and funny!
Thanks so much for your post on my blog. The only thing is that the nutter is a brother of mine who has serious problems to deal with. But like you say, you have to think of all the friends and family that have your support, and luckily that nutter is in the minority.
Have a great Sunday!
