The Powerhouse Gets EVEN BETTER!

Jane and I were deciding where to go this morning and we settled on a trip to The Powerhouse Museum, as we couldn't really decide. What were we thinking? The Powerhouse Museum has never let us down, and if anything, it keeps on getting better and better with each visit.

As per normal, we started off in the Members lounge, which is my favourite part as we get to have a real coffee and catch-up. While we amp up on caffeine, our little people play quite happily below us in the toy pit, which has some pretty funky items in it. This morning had a bonus too, as Jane, Tommy and Sophie bought along some gingerbread men that they'd made the day before. Now Jarvis is not into sweet stuff, but scoffed down a whole biscuit in seconds flat and then gobbled the remaining half of mine. Must have been bloody good gingerbread men I think.

Once the little people were full of biscuits and the olds full of caffeine, it was time to hit the museum, not so much for a look around, but more for a dash around, with the occasional look. We did spend a lot of time in the wee kids TV studio which was heaps of fun before heading outside for a play in the lovely Sydney autumn sunshine.

We'd saved the best until last, a visit to the Special FX: Secrets Behind The Sceen exhibit, that was just the most fun thing we've done in ages. There were heaps of blue screens set up where you could see yourself on a monitor doing various feats. One had me in an Egyptian dungeon, where a heavy rock door fell down and trapped me inside, totally freaking Jarvis out as he though his Dah was hurt. It was so touching to see him so concerned for me. There were heap and heaps of other cool things to do, one of which is Jarvis climbing up the side of a castle, as you can see in the rather grainy picture below. So if you live in Sydney, go and see it, you'll have a ball as we did.

House Dad.
