Weekend Wrap: 24 - 25 May 2008

Jarvis just loves hanging with the builders who are working next door. As soon as he'd jumped out of the car after school on Friday, he was in the front yard chatting away with the guys. He loves playing in all the mess. picking up off cuts of wood and building wee constructions. Scott and the other builders are really good, as they entertain Jarvis and give him wee jobs like sweeping up.

Friday night was a big one for me, with firstly my running clubs award night followed by catching up with a mate at a salsa club. This meant that old man Dah was pretty tired on Saturday morning. I really needed to catch up on some sleep, so Adrienne took the boys to the movies, while I napped. Jarvis really wanted to go and see Iron Man, so off they went for the 10am screening. As per normal, Adrienne really splashed out on lollies, fizzy drinks and a play in the amusement arcade. I'm sure the boys will grow to love trips out with Adrienne, as going to the movies with Dah means sneaking lollies in, and saying that all the games in the arcade are broken. I'm such a tight arse!

Going back to Jarvis building stuff from scraps of wood next door with the builders, he's been hard out making some crazy stuff with his Lego all weekend. What started out as a wee collection of robots, has now over the weekend grown into what I can only describe as some kind of Heath Robinson type contraption. I came back from my 30K club run this morning to find Jarvis had built the most amazing construction. I was so proud of him and said 'Jarvis, you are a genius', and the wee man tried to stifle the hugest smile. It was so touching and I think the best thing we can do for our little people is give them praise, love and respect.

So yeah, that's about all we've been up to this weekend. It's been full of cuddles, quality time and lots and lots of love. Being a family just rocks aye :o)
