We were the first ones in at 10.00am and Jarvis wasted no time in exploring the place. He marveled at the huge telescopes, wowed at the pictures of constellations and enjoyed some of the hands on exhibits. But then all of a sudden, we'd seen everything and we'd only been in the building for 10-minutes! I'd forgotten how small the place is and that you can whiz around the place in no time at all. Worst of all, I'd put over $6 in the parking meter. My heart was racing LOL.
So to kill some time and make the most of the remaining hour on our parking ticket, we just played on Observatory Hill, which to be honest, was more fun than the Observatory. It's set up high, as observatories are, and has the most wonderful views of Sydney. We could see our local bridge, Anzac bridge and Jarvis was delighted to see Luna Park on the far off shore.
The grassy area around the observatory is very, very steep, so we spent ages rolling down the hills and generally mucking around. There was also a rotunda that we turned into a spaceship and an old gun, that we used to shot aliens - all very sci-fi related activities, which were totally appropriate to our location.
Then it was home for a lunch and much deserved sleep, before heading out again in the afternoon for a a play in our local park.
I have to say, that when Adrienne came home, I was totally, totally worn out, as it's such a busy day trying to entertain two wee boys. So with that, I'm off to bed at 8.04pm - What a Nanna!
House Dad.

Just love the photo of the 2 boys in the car, it is screaming out for a caption! It reminds me of those ads on TV for the fiat car I think it is when the wee surfey baby goes and picks up his girlfriend for a drive.
Excellent!
