Lunch In China Town

The last couple of weeks have been pretty tough on the whanau, with illness, lack of sleep and other stuff, so Adrienne and I made a concerted effort to get out and do something all together today. It helped that it was a nice sunny winters day, just what the four of us, who are all suffering with colds, coughs and the tail end of a conjunctivitis, needed. Also, Jarvis had the $20 that he'd earned from his star chart, to spend on whatever he wanted.

So it was that we drove into town for a visit to Paddy's Market, where Jarvis could spend his money. Paddy's Market is massive and full to the rafters with all sorts of counterfeit products and crap - just perfect for a little guy with $20 burning a whole in his pocket. We'd expected to spend a while in there, however Jarvis spotted exactly what he wanted on a stall just inside the entrance. No prizes for guessing that it was a gun! However, this was no ordinary gun, as it came with a target, that when hit with the red light from the gun, spins round and plays the most awful music. The boy wanted it, and it was his hard earned bucks, so yeah, plus once at home, we were all queuing up to try and hit the target ;o)

After the brief visit to Paddy's Market, we then walked the short distance to China Town for a spot of lunch. Adrienne, with all her business lunch experience, is somewhat an expert at picking the most delicious items of the menu, so we left it in her more than capable hands. Adrienne didn't let us down either, as we feasted on special fried rice (Jarvis favourite) shredded Peking beef, Schezwan chicken and broccoli and snow peas. It was fantastic :o)

After the delicious lunch we all wandered for a while, letting the boys soak up some sunshine and burn off some energy. After a couple of weeks of on going sickness, it was so nice to be out with my beautiful Wife and Children. Life is so good aye :o)
