Leichhardt Festival

Where would we be socially if it were not for my running buddy Manal, who not only put us onto last nights Halloween Festival, but also told me about today's Leichhardt Festival. So it was, that as soon as I got home from our run, which by the way, Manal really, really pushed me on, so thanks Manal, that I suggested we try out the festival.

So in under an hour of returning home, the whanau was back out of the door and heading towards Leichhardt, which is the next suburb along from us. Leichhardt has traditionally been the Italian section of Sydney for many years and it's still not unusual to hear Italian being spoken everywhere around that part of town. This of course, is more than reflected in the festival, as it hums to the sound of Italian music and the air is full of the aroma of Italian cooking.

Jarvis couldn't really give a stuff about the music or the food, as he's spotted a couple of clowns from Cheekie Enterprises, who did a great job of making both Felix and himself a couple of balloon animals, plus painting a lovely spider on Jarvis cheek.

The next stop was the park, as they had rides and other forms of entertainment to keep both young and old amused. Jarvis spent ages going round and round on a bouncy assault course, while Adrienne growled at little people who tried to push in front.

It was extremely hot and muggy, so loaded up with soft drinks and some strange looking Italian biscuits, we sat for a while in the the shade, before walking home and having one of our lovely long Sunday afternoon naps.

In the evening we had a BBQ and then opened the Wii computer game, that I'd bought for Xmas, with the remaining money that Nanny Ronnie and Granddad Steve left for the boys. Unusually, it was my idea to open it VERY early, as Adrienne is normally the one who can't wait for these things. I'm glad that we did, as it was lots of fun and I'm sure it'll get played with heaps.

House Dad.
