Jarvis managed to compete in the majority of events, that included the warm up, obstacle course, baton relay and hurdles, however was over it by the last event. He decided to call it a day, which I guess is fair enough, as it's a long day for a four-year-old after being at school all day.
Saturday was really nice as we did not go anywhere, choosing instead to laze around the backyard and soak up some sunshine. I was happy too, as we managed not to spend any money ha ha. The highlight though, was in the afternoon when the whole whanau had a nice long sleep for a couple of hours. From then on the only major thing we did was to all enjoy a BBQ in the backyard. A wonderful, lazy family day.
After my return from a lovely Sunday morning run, the whanau were all ready to head off to Bondi Mall to go shopping. At the mall, while I did the weekly grocery shop Adrienne and the boys checked out the puppy dogs, which Jarvis then mimicked, pretending to be a curly puppy dog, which wanted to come home with us. Oh all right then :o)
After the shopping was done we drove to Centennial Park for a play in the sun. I've not been to Centennial Park for ages, so it was nice to be back in a park that Jarvis and I spent many happy hours when we first came over to Australia. We spent about 90-minutes in the park before heading home to escape the heat and unpack the shopping.
Our weekend was capped off with a lovely BBQ at our neighbors Billy, Sarah and Thomas place, who live directly across the road from us. Thomas is nearly two and thinks that Jarvis is just the coolest when he does silly noises and runs around. Of course Jarvis soaks up the attention and plays up even more for Thomas.
So yeah, that was our weekend, nice and relaxing. Not much to write about, but heaps of cuddles and time to enjoy each other.
House Dad.
