On Wednesday, Jarvis painted the Christmas molds that he bought and made on Monday. They came out really well, but Jarvis decided that he'd disregard the traditional colour schemes, as shown on the box and go for earthy tones, namely brown and green!
Without a doubt the highlight of dropping Jarvis off at school for me, is chatting to the friends I've made there. The parents I chat with are Belinda, Emma and Jane, who are really cool and on days when I only get to chat to adults during drop off and pick up times, I hang out for these prized few minutes. Anyway, one of my chats with Belinda this week was over a table of Play Doh with Jarvis and Belinda's Daughter Evie-Rose. While Belinda and I chatted and regressed with handfuls of Play Doh, our youngest offspring Felix and Cissy also played together in the background.
Adrienne and myself were joking in the week about how good Jarvis packed lunches are, compared to the ones we had as kids. Adrienne used to be sent off to school with jam sandwiches and I had mint sauce ones. But yeah, I spend lots of time searching the shelves of the supermarket for fresh new ideas, so I can keep his lunch box entertaining.
Jarvis is still a very tricky eater and dinner time for me can be somewhat of a nightmare. However, I struck gold this week with a dish called 'Volcano Island'. It's mashed potato and kumara (sweet potato) filled with a mince meat in pasta sauce. For effect, it's topped off with tomato sauce to represent lava. For the first time ever Jarvis said to me while eating "I love it Dah." OMG, I was so happy, as that's a first :o)
Still on the subject of food, Jarvis made dinner on Thursday night. Our wee man made pizza, with the ingredients that I'd prepared. I think getting Jarvis involved with the making of dinner is a great way to get him to eat it. Anyway, it was pretty tasty and he had a great time making them.
I left home at 5am this morning for a club run with Sydney Striders and returned to find an empty house! It was good, as I got to have a sleep, but I did really miss my babies. They were having a wonderful time though with their Mumma. Adrienne took them on the bus, something I never do, for a trip to see Santa at Myers department store. Adrienne said that Jarvis was wonderful and had a long and civilized chat with Santa, telling him how he's going to be a good boy and hopefully get some Hot Wheels sets for Christmas.

And here's my beautiful babies with Santa at Myer's. Don't they look fabulous.

House Dad.
