The weather was absolutely beautiful, reaching about 28-degrees, so something outside and fun was required for us. And where better to go on a sunny day than our local park. It's only about 5-minutes drive away and we never really make the most of it to be honest. It has an amazing play ground, heaps of trees, a wee river and water front, just perfect for rock throwing boys.
We started off in the play ground, where within minutes of entering, Jarvis has introduced himself and Felix to everyone. This is a result of trying to teach Jarvis about stranger danger a few weeks back. We told him not to talk to people whose name he did not know. So now he introduces himself to everyone, with the rational being that as he knows their names, they are no longer strangers to him.
After the park we had a spot of lunch in the wee building that Jarvis likes to call the castle. It's a nice shady spot and just perfect for lunch. It was so nice too, that both boys sat down for a full 10-minutes and cleaned up all their lunch before heading off for another play.
This time it was down to the waters edge, to do what we do best in Bi-Centennial Park and that's throw the biggest rocks we can find into the water. Even wee Felix has gets in on the act now and loves to copy Jarvis in rock throwing. Though Jarvis and I make sure to give Felix LOTS of space when he's throwing rocks, as his direction is not that great. It only adds to the stacks of laughs we have on our days out.
House Dad.
