We purchased a $10 ticket, which allowed us to travel all day on any bus or train. It's great value and next time we are planning to take the train to South Auckland.
The only thing I found strange was that the train, in non-peak time, only had to make a trip one-way and back, but still managed to run 20-minutes late! How hard can it be to aim a train straight down a track, turn around and come back?
