Jarvis and I went to the park this morning for a couple of hours, which was great fun and only spoilt for a few minutes by a horrible little girl. For no reason at all, a wee girl of about 2 came over and hit Jarvis in the face. He didn't cry, but looked hurt and confused. I was a couple of metres away and rushed over to hug Jarvis and asked her why she did it and where was her mum or father. She just sneared and tried to hit Jarvis again. On refelction, I wish I had not said what I did to her, but I was a little angry. Anyway, we moved away from her to another part of the playground, but I kept an eye on the girl, who continued to pick on other kids. Later I spotted her with her mother, who it appears spent the whole time at the playground on her mobile phone and jotting stuff in a diary. I felt like saying, 'Give your child some love and time, for her sake', but didn't. It's no wonder that little girl is so agressive, she must be craving attention and love.
Anyway, the rest of the time was spent playing hide and seek and having a great time. I'm so glad that we have a polite and loving child. It only takes giving your little person RESPECT and they'll show it back to us and the rest of the world.
House Dad.
