Like an over excited kid, I was up at 5.30am thinking that we'd all get stuck into the presents nice and early. I had to wait another 2-hours before the rest of my family surfaced...doh! Anyway, that's jumping the gun a wee bit as we each opened a present last night. Jarvis got a fantastic Cat in the Hat t-shirt, DVD and toy from his Auntie Nefni; she does pick the coolest presents for Jarvis. Working Mum opened a present from me, which was some sparklers, so we headed out to the garden (in daylight) to light them carefully with Jarvis. Our biggest concern though was dropping a lit sparkler on our Plastic-Fantastic lawn, and the whole lot going up in flames :o)
But back to today. Jarvis opened his presents first and was a little over-whelmed by the whole thing. It was Thomas the Tank Engine everywhere. Two books, three DVDs and two trains, but the big one was to come. His eyes nearly burst when he saw the train lay out, with all the houses, sign posts, traffic lights and roads. He never moved more than 1-metre away from it, for at least 2-hours this morning.
I got some cool presents from Working Mum. Some chocolates, a James Blunt CD, Little Britain series 2 DVD and a couple of great Espirt shirts. Working Mum got a framed picture of Jarvis, a hairdryer, silk dressing gown and matching nightwear..mmmmm and a DVD I made last night. It comprised of a slide show containing 300-odd pictures of Jarvis from 0 to 18-months old and set to music. We all watched it together, with tears of joy in our eyes, as it brought home how lucky we are to have such a wonderful son.
This arvo we headed to the beach for a couple of hours. Both parents had a brief swim, but each had to come back in, as Jarvis was not happy with us going into the noisey water. We need to find a calmer beach.
Now Working Mum is making a roast in the 38 degree heat!!! My idea...whoops. And I'm updating the blog. I'd like to say 'Merry Christmas' to all our family and friends around the world. Thank you for reading the blog and I hope you enjoy the updates as much as I enjoy doing them.
Merry Christmas from Working Mum, Jarvee and House Dad oxo
