Walk - Swim - Tana

Jarvis and I went for an early morning walk, before the heat got up. I bought a coffee and Jarvis' bought and apple, and together we had a wee stroll along Oxford Street.

After we both had a mid-morning nap, (I'd been up since 4.30am) we went to the Phillip Cook pool in town, for a splash. Jarvis is getting very confident in the water and even waded in up to his chin. It was only when the wave machine came on, and we both got caught up in a big wave, that we moved to shallower water. But better was to come, when he insisted that I didn't hold him on the water slide. It's not a big slide, but none of the other toddlers were coming down on their own. They all came down with their mums. I think Jarvis was trying to impress the older kids. Anyway, he did fine and was not worried about going under the water at the bottom. Great arvo for the boys.

We also received a wonderful set of pictures from our friends, Tim and Fiona, of their beautiful daughter, Daisy. They were pregnant the same time as us, when they came and stayed nearly 2-years ago now...Wow! Picture of Daisy below.

I've just checked Xtra back home and read that Tana Umaga held a press conference to confirm his departure. What a guy, what an inspiration and what a loss for New Zealand rugby, he'll be missed, but good on him. True Legend.

House Dad.
