How Much To Run A Sydney Toddler - Day Five

Sadly, due to Jarvis having a horrendous night last night, we were unable to catch up with Anne, Tommy and Sophie this morning for a trip to the Maritime Museum. Both Jarvis and I had been up since 4.30am and were both very cranky. We did get out for about 40-minutes first thing this morning to feed the ducks in Centennial Park. Well the plan was to feed the ducks, but as this was our first attempt, we went to the wrong spot and got mobbed by some geese. I dropped the bag of bread, picked Jarvis up and legged it.

After that mishap, I sat down on the bench to watch the sunrise and keep an eye on Jarvis as he explored the dry pond. Well I thought it was dry, and so did Jarvis. In the picture below, he is seconds away from sinking up to his knees in mud.

After we both had a much needed sleep from 11.00am - 2.00pm, we drove into town and spent a couple of hours at the Sydney Aquarium. From there we just hung around Darling harbor waiting for Adrienne to finish work.

Here is the final How Much To Run A Sydney Child

Today's Costs

Bread For Ducks: $2.50
Entry To Sydney Aquarium:$3.57 (Based on 19th entry on $68.00 1-year membership)
Parking: $11.50 (Normal price $25.00 - Aquarium discount)
Lunch: $8.60 (10% membership discount)

Total: $26.17

Final Total: $69.40

Conclusion: I am a major tight-arse and cut corners where ever I can, making the most of discounts, making packed lunches and finding as many cheap or free things to do as possible, but the final figure of nearly $70 is astounding. It just goes to show how expensive a city Sydney is.

House Dad.

Oh dear....but we did have a wee giggle as we too have had an encounter with "awful" geese!!! They are just the most intimidating, scary things on this planet....at least that was what Bradley thought at the time!! And even Dad was not at all impressed with them.....so you have our sympathy!!

Finally, if it is any consolation we too had Bradley up in the night last night...the first night in months!!!

Sounds like you guys had a cool week!! You did some very exciting stuff for $70 really! You guys lucky to have it all on your doorstep!!

take care
Bradley's Mum from a very cold Tokoroa!!
