Look Me, Me Jarvis, Me Pirate, Arrhhhh

It rained today like I've only ever seen it rain on the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand. We had planned to go to our local playgroup, however being stuck inside with 60+ other damp parents and carer's really didn't appeal to me, so we drove over to The Supa Centre to get some bits. Our first port of call being Freedom Furniture to get some bed linen and bits for Jarvee's new room. As is always the case with Freedom, who have poxy stock levels which always amazes me, as EVERY time I've tried to buy something, they NEVER have it in stock! Bloody annoying. Anyway, I got some duvet covers and bits for his room, with the help of a really cool assistant called Serena, who was most taken with Jarvis. They sat down at a little person's table and read some books. Serena allowed us to take some pictures, however had to vet the pictures to make sure she looked OK. I think Jarvis thought she did.

Our next port of call was Dick Smith, not to buy anything, but just to run around and touch all the cool stuff in store. Jarvis (pictured below) did what all little people love doing, and that's turning up volume knobs REALLY LOUD, on one of the display T.V's. OMG! Did it crank out some sounds and made all the assistants come running over. Luckily for us they were all Dad's and understood the attraction.

Our final stop at The Supa Centre on this wet and miserable day was Toy's R Us, to see if we could find some pirates bits, as Jarvis is SOO into pirates at the moment. It was quite cool as we went about the store and I thought to myself, "This is just like playgroup, except we get to play with brand new toys." We eventually made it to the dress-up section and Jarvis' eyes nearly popped out of his head when he saw all the swords. Up until his trip back home to New Zealand, I was really not happy with Jarvis playing with weapons, but having a sword tucked into his pirate belt, does not seem to bad too me now.

As it was lunchtime when we departed Toy's R Us, we sat down to share a sandwich, whilst Jarvis, dressed in his new pirate bits, said to anyone passing who'd listen, "Look me, me Jarvis, me pirate, arrhhh."

House Dad.
