Before we headed off for a day of fun, we had a surprise call from Jane, who is the Mum of Sophie and Tommy, the twins we used to hang every Friday with Super Anne. Jane and I have arranged to catch up with our little people every week now, as there's a lot of respect and love between Jarvis, Sophie and Tommy. It was so nice to hear back from Jane, the highlight of my day without a doubt.
Our mission today was to jump on the light railway and check out China Town, as it's just turned New Year on the Chinese calendar. Sadly, there wasn't anything on, but we did have a great time playing in and around China town. Jarvis even got to do some sweeping up in a souvenir shop which, he thought was really cool. All the shop assistants loved his hair and just had to touch it. Jarvis must have had his photograph taken with about 40 Asian tourists this morning. We should start charging and use the money to buy toys for the boys.
After China town, we played around Darling Harbour for about and hour, finishing with Jarvis playing in a large water display, much to the amusement of loads of tourists, who again, took loads of photographs. I could see that he was getting soaked through, however the light train station was our next stop, so I thought, why bother getting into a fight, as we'd be going soon. Anyway, it was another stinking hot day, so a splash in the water cooled him off heaps.
Jarvis didn't have time to fall asleep during the short car drive from the train station to our house, so I carried him in singing, "I love my Jarvis" over and over again. I laid my tired boy on the sofa to go and fix him drink before his sleep and he said, "Love you Dah." Could being a Dad get any better than that? Anyway, by the time I came back into the lounge, he was fast asleep, totally worn out from his morning in China town. I'm off to join him now, as Adrienne won't be home until after midnight, so I need to have plenty of energy to get me through the rest of the day and evening.
House Dad.
