Desperate Housedad's

It's still a bit wet in Sydney, as you'll see from the first four pictures in today's post, taken last night when Jarvis and I went outside to play in the rain. It's so cool when Adrienne is away, because we can do stuff like getting soaked and spend all night watching DVDs and eating popcorn - it's good to be a boy eh!

Sadly though, we paid for last nights Man-Fest as Jarvis was the grumpiest I've ever seen him today, due to lack of sleep and nutritional deficiencies from our pizza and popcorn diet of the last two days (just joking Adrienne) Today at the museum, he was so grumpy it was unreal, with quite a few moments that he needed redirecting. On the upside, we made a couple of new, very cool friends.

As we entered the museum, another parent who was also waiting, asked me a question and as I'd not spoken to another adult in over 24-hours, my mouth and brain went in hyper-drive. The poor woman, who only asked me a simple question, was then whisked up to the members lounge, plied with tea, all before we'd even exchanged names. Once I'd composed myself, we found out that our abductees where Leora and her daughter Keren and both turned out to be really cool people. Sadly, Jarvis was VERY grumpy, so didn't show his best sides, but he'll be a lot better if we hook up with our new buddies again. That's is of course if we've not scared them with our freakish behaviour!

It was really refreshing to talk to another parent who, along with her partner, has similar attitudes about raising their little person, as Adrienne and I. We also chatted about being full-time parents and it was nice to know that Leora and Keren are going through the same things as Jarvis and myself. So yeah, I'm glad that my mouth and brain went into auto-madman mode this morning, as I'd not normally be so bold, but glad that I did, as we met a couple of really cool people which, is not such a bad thing eh.

Now Jarvis is sleeping and I'm off for a quick nap, as we might have to go over to Clovelly tonight to help Katherine put together all the furniture we've given her for her new flat. I just know that Jarvis will be busting to get his hands on his (my) cordless drill and show the girls how handy he is with it. Right, sleep time - tough life aye!

Jarvis has been showing more and more interest in my PC recently, so I've tried to find sites that are very simple and help him work out how to use the mouse. Here's a cool one which my buddy Chris told me about. It's very simple and only took a few seconds for Jarvis to work out how to use the mouse. It's such a simple site, but I've been clicking away for about half and hour now...lol. Go to www.maylin.net/Fireworks.html and be sure to have the volume up loud.

House Dad.
