Wet Weather Option

The plan was to do our normal Monday catch up with Tieia and the girls, but the weather was very, very wet, so Jarvis and I decided to do our own thing and go to The Australian Museum, as we've not been there for ages. It was good too, as we bumped into the boss of the Kids Island area Sarah who told us all about the new developments and that the new play area will be opening on 16th March, which we were invited along too. Sadly, we'll be home in New Zealand, but promised Sarah that we'd come along as soon as possible and offer some feed-back. While in the temporary Kids Island section, Jarvis got to play with another Sarah and had a wonderful time, whilst I chatted to a really cool Mum from Newtown. She told me about a great group over in that area, and we've planned to meet up when we get back from New Zealand.

The museum is going through some major structural changes, so a lot of the areas are closed off for the developments. It's a pain, but I'm sure in the long term we'll all benefit from a improved museum. We just took more time and went over some of the exhibits a couple of times. we did spend heaps of time in the Eaten Alive exhibition and I even got to wear some 3-D glasses which, made me look so cool!

Adrienne is away at a conference in Manly from Monday to Friday, then off to Christchurch from Thursday to Saturday for another conference, so Jarvis and I are batching it this week. We'll be hanging out for Sunday though, when we have Mumma/Adrienne for a whole 8-days when we do our South Island trek in our Maui camper van...wahoo, it will be so much fun. I'm so looking forward to seeing all my mates back home in Auckland from Thursday to Sunday, as I've missed them all so much.

I'm off for a nana-nap now, as I have to be on the ball as Adrienne is away this week, so need to keep my batteries charged to keep up with Mr. Whirlwind.

House Dad.
