Large Dog Talks Jarvee For A Walk

We had a wee accident last night when we went for a walk with Robyn from down the road, who has three large German Shepherds. Jarvis wanted to hold the leash, so we let him which was OK for a while, that was until the dog saw a cat an suddenly ran forward pulling Jarvis with him. Poor Jarvis fell over and scratched up his nose which, left me feeling really stink about not being safer. There were quite a few tears, but just like his Mumma, who is also as hard-as-nails, he didn't want any attention and wouldn't let me look at it. I was busting to get my first aid kit out and put into practice my lessons, but sadly no, however I'm thinking I'll have LOTS of chances to over the coming years with two wee boys around.

This morning we went into Leichhardt to buy some last minute bits for our trip back home to New Zealand, plus some groceries for Katherine who will be house sitting for us. It's worked out well, as Katherine, who only arrived in Australia 4-weeks ago, needed somewhere to crash for 2-weeks, until she can move into her new place. Perfect timing or what!

Our first stop was one of those cheapy shops where we bought loads of bit for only $11! I couldn't believe it, and thought the guy had added it all up wrong, but no it was right, and the price included two chocolate eggs for Jarvis and I - great score! we had a fun time in the shop too, as Jarvis did some weights and nibbled on a large fake burger and I tried on a curly green and gold wig. I've been looking for a curly blond one for ages which, I can wear out, as I must gets asked 10 times a day where Jarvis gets his hair from. C'mon, I've got straight brown/grey hair, it's a bit obvious, it's not me. Anyway, If I got a blond curly wig, then the questions might stop. Sadly, the wig was Aussie colours and I'd never stoop that low - sorry Lisa, Michael, Oscar, Alisa, Chris, Kai, and Spencer our VERY good Aussie buddies.

From there we went to the Italian Forum for lunch and for the first time ever, Jarvis and I sat down for the entire meal which, was a complete first. It was lovely and a sign of things to come one day, when we lunch together and have interesting chats. The are the odd moments when being a full-time parent is hard, especially as Adrienne is away at the moment, however moments like this morning, sitting down and looking at my boy proudly, make it all seem so worthwhile.

House Dad.
