I kept to my word and didn't have us rushing here, there and everywhere this morning, and kept things very low key. After Adrienne had her bath and breakfast, she even had time to sit down and read, getting some much needed rest. There was a quiet calm over our wee house this morning, something that is a rarity in fact, with Mr. and Mr. Jr Whirlwind living in it. I even went back to bed for an hour, for a sleep and was woken by Jarvis sticking a dinosaur up my nose and saying "Wake up Dah".
Our next stop was to drive down the road and follow our good friends Vanessa, Ken and Dane across the Harbour Bridge and over to Crows Nest for lunch. To be honest, it's not a part of Sydney that we've explored much at all, but we were very surprised to find some very funky shops, one of which, was full of everything you could imagine in the celestial field. Jarvis was, to use an awful pun, over the moon with the shop and scored some small space people, that we can add to his funky spaced themed bedroom.
Then it was onto the place that was our reason for coming to Crows Nest, and that was to have an early lunch of Yum Cha and one of Vanessa and Ken's favourite Yum Cha restaurants. To be honest, both Adrienne and I are completely ignorant to this style of eating, so asked to be left in the expert hands of Ken and Vanessa. The food was great and even Jarvis insisted that he eat with chopsticks. Jarvis thought that the tanks full of fish, lobsters, prawns and other seafood where really cool and tried to hook some out. As per normal though, Jr Whirlwind was bored after about 15-minutes, so both he and Adrienne went for a walk around the shops, leaving me with Ken, Vanessa and Dane.
I'm pretty game to eat most stuff, but did a wrong thing of pigging out and then couldn't handle the final dishes of tripe and chickens feet. I tried, but started to heave, as I had a very full puku of sticky rice and dumplings. I just knew that I'd throw if the feet or trip came anywhere near my mouth. What a cop out!
After lunch we all had a monumental nana nap of three hours, recharging our tired batteries, exhausted after our first full week back after our wonderful holiday. There was only one way to make the most of those recharged batteries, and that was to watch The Crusaders take on The Storm and game eventually won 36 - 11 by The Crusaders. Adrienne was unhappy, as I'd taught Jarvis to chant "Go Sader's, go Saders", in preparation for the Crusaders vs. Warattahs game we are going to next week. One the game had finished though, Adrienne had him chanting 'Go Blues, Go Blues" again.
Oh and we played with some Duplo blocks as well, making some funky space ships. As you'll see below, there's one of Adrienne flying her wee space ship.
House Dad.
