We'll Have That Bed Please

My fears that Jarvis and Oscar would mutate into wee swamp monsters after yesterdays paddle in the Centennial Park duck pond, didn't come to anything, as both boys seemed fit and healthy today. After not seeing our buddies for nearly six-weeks, we've now seen them two days in a row which is just cool. I forgot how funny and funky Lisa is, with a sick and twisted sense of humour just like mine. Also as I mentioned yesterday, Oscar and Jarvis play together so well, with even a moment of both riding a stick horse together. I still have to stay fairly close by, as Jarvis can still be a little too heavy-handed sometimes, but he's getting a whole lot better.

We did have an interesting moment, when I thought he said The F Word, but just brushed it off as a mishearing. Sadly though, it came out quite clearly a couple more times, so I think I will have to watch my language a lot more carefully from now on. We ignored it, which we've been told is the best thing to do, and later on, Adrienne heard him say it, and is convinced that he's saying "stuck." So we'll just have to see.

As Lisa has a broken foot, she again had the help of fellow Kiwi Zara, who I thought was really cool, but then went to being VERY COOL when I found out that her and her partner are both Crusaders fans. I bought 4 x tickets for next weekends game, when the Crusaders take on the Warattahs here in Sydney, with the view of Lisa, Michael and Oscar joining us, but they have a wedding on, so Zara and her partner Peter will be joining us instead. Yahoo, that will mean that for once, I won't be out numbered by my Blues loving Wife and Son.

In the afternoon, we drove into the city and picked Adrienne up, as we had to go and book her bed for the birth of Version 2.0. Things are a bit different here in Australia, as opposed to New Zealand, not better or worse, just done differently. Anyway, you have to book a bed in advance of the birth, which I'm sure is not a specific bed, but you are just notifying them that you are due to have a baby on such a date. I think that's how it works?

From there we had a quick spot of dinner at McDonald's, quick being the operative word, as none of us really ate. I think it was due to the fact that we are not really Macca's fans, and it's still very, very hot here in Sydney, so really only drank our drinks.

Once home, we played fireworks for a while, watched the Blues beat the Warattahs and gave Adrienne some down time, as she's had a big week and is very, very tired. I think we'll spoil her this weekend, with breakfast in bed, some massages and NO grumpiness from me. The latter will be very hard, but it it makes life more pleasant for Adrienne, then I'll pull my head in!

House Dad.
