NZ Trip Day Eleven: Homeward Bound

My day started, as they pretty much all ways do, in my sleep, as I worked out a routine for what to pack into each suitcase, and what we needed in our day bag. It's kind of cool having a brain that does this while I sleep, though the odd 'normal' dream would be nice. Saying that, Adrienne always dreams about flying and saving the world which, pretty much sums up the type of woman she is, strong and determined, and our wee man, what does he dream of? Well we've had the full range of Jarvis' talking in his sleep this week, as we've all slept together in the camper. He's said "I like chocolate Mumma", we've also had "Puss cat, puss cat" and of course his favourite of telling his old's off "No Mumma" or "No Dah."

So with my dream packing organised (sadly I can't pack in my sleep) and Adrienne's superb plan for dropping off the camper, checking in the luggage early and then letting Jarvis sleep in the car, while we drove back to Brenton and Donna's, we were all set to go. And it all worked like a dream, making what could have been a long and stressful day, into a fun and manageable experience. It did post up a couple of pictures of Adrienne and I, to show that although we'd had the most wonderful time back home in New Zealand, we were ready to get back to our routine in Sydney. Even though we both look pretty tired, Adrienne is STILL looking incredibly beautiful.

Jarvee's DVD player again worked a treat as he watched Superman Returns on the return flight. There's a scene where Superman rescues a crashing plane (fun to watch while flying!) and once he puts the plane onto the ground, he pulls off the door, steps inside the plane and talks to the passengers. When it got to that scene, Jarvis jumped up in his seat (see pic below) and looked expectantly towards the front of the plane to find Superman, it was so cute.

The formalities at the airport went quite well and we were home by about 8.30pm, all very tired but having had the most wonderful holiday back home in New Zealand. Thank you to all our friends in Auckland for taking the time to see us and thank you to all our family in the South Island for making our time there the most wonderful experience for us all. We had a ball and Jarvis LOVED spending time with his whanau.

House Dad.
