Jarvis and I walked down, which took us about 20-minutes in the pleasant autumn sunshine. We took the stroller, as 2 kilometres is quite a way for Jarvis to walk and with all the distractions on the way, it would take us hours to get there. He enjoyed being in the stroller, or his robot as he calls it and we had fun going fast so that he could stick his arms out in front just like Superman does when he flies. It also meant that I could load the stroller up with all our stuff and didn't have to lug my massive day-out pack on my back.
We arrived smack bang on 10 am as arranged and Jane, Alex, Tommy and a beautiful looking Sophie, in her yellow fairy dress arrived shortly after. I checked with Jarvis if he needed to wee, but he told me that he didn't, so I didn't push it.Then at about 10.30 Tommy and Alexander went into the bushes and I took Jarvis to watch and see if he wanted to go, which he didn't, but I think he was a bit shy about doing wees in a bush for the first time and in front of the boys. I waited another 10-minutes and said, "Come on, Jarvis and Dah do wees in the bushes" and off we went. This time after taking off his shoes and shorts as I'd been advised, he managed, although nervously, as he wasn't too sure what to do, to do wees. I was so proud of my little man and once dressed gave him lots and lots of praise and kisses. I know to a non - parent reading this, it will sound silly, but I truly was so proud for my boy and couldn't hold back from showing my joy.
So yeah, the rest of the morning went well, though we didn't get anymore wees until we got home and he sat on the toilet, but it was a start and hopefully we'll be able to continue with this success.
House Dad.
