Along the way I have made some wonderful blogging buddies too, such as Bex in Auckland, Shoshana in the US, Charlie in Christchurch, The Hilliard's out in West Auckland, young Dominic up on the Gold Coast, Ailsa over in Perth, Rachel in Wellington, Fiona, Tim (old school mate from way back) and their beautiful wee ones, plus heaps more who I'm sorry if I haven't added here. Plus the heaps of people who check in all the time from around the globe. Once a week I check to see who has been looking at the sight and I'm astounded by how many visit we get and the locations - I'm blown away. So HI to you guys too and thank you for dropping by.
The 1000 posts and comments have been 99% positive and upbeat, with the only exception being that awful comment that I posted, as I was so shocked by the parent who predicted Jarvis would be expelled from school at the age of five. It really brought me down and unleashed one the worst bouts of depression I've had in years, as I felt like such a suck parent. The thing that got me through was all the wonderful emails and comments from our readers, basically telling 'Concerned Parent of Two' to f**k off!!! It worked, as we've never heard from her again :o)
So yeah, 1000 posts and on we go with Jarvis antics. Well the last two days have been pretty awful weather wise, so it's been all inside stuff. We did venture out yesterday to do the weekly shop, where Jarvis helps me find all the things I need, along with lots that I don't! The funniest thing though happened at the cash register when the guy asked if Jarvis was a boy or a girl. Jarvis looked at him and said "My names Jarvis and I'm a boy and I have a penis", which left the guy in no doubt.
On the way home too, we had a near crash, as Jarvis out of the blue said "Dah, I can't wait for Nanny from New Zealand to arrive." For a few seconds I must have blacked out and came round just in time to slam on the brakes before hitting the stopped car in front. "Is Nanny coming over from New Zealand Jarvis?" I asked 'Yes, Mumma told me last night", he said. Luckily we were right near the RPA hospital, so the ambulance staff only had a short drive to find me passed out and administer those electric heart paddle things you see in the movies ;o)
It's been great having Signe, Betty and Evie only a hundred metres up the road, as yesterday and today we got to hang with them, due to the weather being so bad. It was good fun, as generally Jarvis and Betty get on pretty well. Yesterday the girls made an apple cake, which we all devoured in seconds.
So that's it, not too much to report for the 1000th post, which I guess is a bit of an anti climax. Sorry about that, but we'll see if we can do something extraordinary over the next few days. Just leave it in Jarvis capable hands and I'm sure he'll come through.
House Dad.

Happy 1000th Blog day to you! Yay, not only do you get obsessed with posting, we get obsessed with reading the wonderful antics of Jarvis. Keep up the good work, and I don't think you should worry about Jarvis's speech not being understood, sounds to me the guy in the supermarket understood him just fine!
