Jarvis was again somewhat under the weather on this morning, so we decided that we wouldn't send him to school. I knew he was a bit flat, but couldn't work out if he was sick enough to stay home. I had it confirmed later in the morning whilst doing the weekly shop, when Jarvis had a rather unfortunate accident in the supermarket, resulting in him having to go 'commando' until we got home. I took his temperature at home and it was 38.7, so yes, he was definitely unwell and suffering from a stomach bug too.
After a short nap Jarvis helped me clean out our fish tank and feed the fish with blood worms, which is always great fun seeing the fish suck them up. I jokingly told Jarvis that we should make Felix eat some, but quickly put them away after seeing the evil glint in his eyes.
Later in the day we had bulk visitors arrive, with firstly Nicole and Tahlia and then Signe, Betty and Evie. It was full on, but nice for the boys, as we'd spent a rather unhealthy amount of time inside the house this week, when we should have been out mixing with other people.
Thursday
Jarvis still had a bit of a sniffle this morning, but his temperature was greatly improved, so I decided that he was fit enough to go back to school. I'm glad he did too, as I was going mad being stuck inside for so many hours this week. Anyway, as we drove to school Jarvis said something to me from the back seat, which I was sure was "Dah, can I kiss you." So I put my hand back round the chair so that he could kiss my hand only to have him cover it was snot! "Why did you do that Jarvis, that's disgusting" I said, to which Jarvis replied "I said, Dah can I have a tissue." The little bugger couldn't stop laughing :o)
Jarvis was very sleepy when we picked him up from school and once home was very close to falling asleep. This would be disastrous, as he'd sleep until about 11pm and then be up all night. So to keep him awake we got straight out of the car and went for a walk round the block. We ended up climbing over our backyard fence and spending a couple of hours in the backyard drawing over anything we could find with chalk. It was great fun and the backyard now looks like some kind of hippy area, with flowers, hearts, tiger footprints and the outlines of our bodies all over it. Great fun.
House Dad.
