Soaking Up The Sun

I went into the backyard this morning to discover that yesterday, unsupervised, Jarvis and Betty had pretty much emptied the entire contents of the sandpit over everything in the backyard. I was not pleased and decided that the sandpit would now be history. So I set about the task of cleaning up, not realizing that it would take another 3-hours to complete all the jobs.

The first mission was to drag the plastic fantastic lawn into the service lane and shake out all the sand. Next I had to wash all the sand off the toys, BBQ, chairs and garden furniture. Once all the sand was gone, I thought that we'd use the plastic half clam shells as paddling pools, but thought that as the weather forecast was good, it might be a good time to bring out the Thomas The Tank Engine inflatable pool. The boys were delighted to see it inflated and full of water and could not wait to get back from the Doctors to have a swim.

At this point I left home to go and have some adult time, but Adrienne informs me that the boys, herself and Nanny Ronnie and Granddad Steve had a wonderful afternoon just hanging in the yard. Apparently, the water was pretty cold, but both boys were not at all fussed and enjoyed their swims and paddles.

House Dad.
