Rock Throwing Boys

It was a long weekend here in Australia, so the boys had the immense pleasure of having Adrienne/Mumma home with us on a Monday. We took the opportunity while she was around to drive over to Ikea to buy a rug for the lounge. The drive over and back was not too long, but long enough for Felix to fall asleep on the return journey.

With Adrienne and Felix asleep, Jarvis and I decided that we'd go out and leave our sleeping babies in peace. We ended up in our local park and did something that as boys we love doing: throwing rocks into the bay - and lots of them. We spent about forty-minutes chucking big, small and odd shaped rocks, as far, as high and as stupidly as we could. It was great fun and thirsty work too, as Jarvis downed all of my Gatorade!

I had a few chores to do in the early evening, so Adrienne to the boys for a 'kiwi walk', which means going for a stroll shoeless. When I first met Adrienne in the UK, she pretty much walked everywhere shoeless. I'm sure the legend goes, she never owned a pair of shoes until she went to school!

On their return, Jarvis explained to me the fantastic time that he'd had with his beloved Mumma and Brother. They saw and stroked a pussy cat, stamped in puddles and meet up with his buddy Lucy, who lives about 50-metres down the road. Jarvis and Lucy get on very well and play so nicely together, it wonderful to see.

So yeah, a lovely long weekend for the whanau - now back to the real world :o)
