Plaster Cast - Brothers - Fruits Of Labour

Felix and myself were passing one of those shops today where you can go in and paint the plaster cast figures. Well it got me to thinking that we could do that at home and fortunately, later on I passed a shop that sold plaster and bought a 3-kilogram bag. After picking up Jarvis from school, we rushed home to test it out. We didn't have much of an idea what to do, so experimented with pushing a Lightning McQueen car into some Play Doh. Once into the mold, it was put up out of Felix's reach and left until Jarvis beloved Mumma came home.

It was after this that I saw the most tender moment between Jarvis and Felix. Ninety percent of the time they get on each others nerves, but while Jarvis was having some quiet time watching TV, Felix climbed up onto the sofa and laid with him. I really expected Jarvis to cry out 'Dah, Felix is annoying me, take him away", but no. Jarvis just lay there, with Felix next to him. It was beautiful.

When Adrienne arrived home it was time to check our plaster cast mold. Jarvis and Adrienne slowly peeled away the Play Doh to reveal a pretty good cast of Lightning McQueen, which Jarvis has since coloured with felt tipped pens. So now I'm thinking that we should see if we can buy some proper molds and have more fun.

And finally, Jarvis waters his veggie plot every night and was delighted to find two ready to pick zucchini tonight. He loved picking them off the plant and hopefully, tomorrow night we'll get to eat them, though I'm not sure he'll like them. May be I can cover them in mayonnaise or tomato sauce!

House Dad.
