Weekend Wrap 15th - 16th November 2008

The weather has been pretty lousy in Sydney this weekend, so Saturday was an at home day for the boys. Adrienne had to go into work, so we missed her heaps, but did our best to keep ourselves occupied. We pretty much spent the day chilling, with a late bath and then lots of playing with toys and each other. It's not something I'm particularly good at, but I did quite enjoy just being with the boys and playing it by ear.

Jarvis and I sneaked out early on Sunday morning to McDonald's, as the wee guy has developed a taste for their pancakes covered in maple syrup. Jarvis was stoked that the girls at McDonald's remembered him from last week and that the pancakes where his favorite. I think we've established a bit of a routine there now.

After his bath, Jarvis spent ages with this weekends obsession, his Hot Wheel motorbike set. He got the set from Jane, the twins Mom for his birthday and after a few weeks, it got put aside, as toys do. However, yesterday he asked if he could go into the loft to find it. We did, and Jarvis set about building ramps, jumps and obstacles for the motorbikes to jump. He spent ages playing with it on his own and it reminded me of the fun boys can have playing cars/motorbikes.

In the afternoon the weather picked up, so Adrienne took the boys to a local school play ground to get some fresh air. The boys had a wonderful time, with Jarvis taking over the camera for a while and taking some wonderful pictures. Sadly, he was not holding the camera when Felix came out of the bushes dragging a dead crow! Adrienne in her shocked state didn't either, which is a shame, as it would have been the first thing I would have done ha ha.

Once they returned (without the dead crow) I started cooking dinner, which tonight was enchiladas. Tonight's enchiladas where to be special ones, as they included the zucchini that Jarvis had grown in the veggie plot that his Nannie Ronnie set up for him when she was over from the UK. Jarvis ate all his dinner, which is quite a feat, helped mostly by our enthusiasm to be eating something that our little man had grown.

House Dad.
